The main thing going on today is Brazilica! It’s finally here and we can’t wait. The UK’s only celebration of Brazilian music and culture will invade the streets tonight with amazing music and dazzling costumes! The Brazilian Festival & Samba Carnival starts with the parade which kicks off at 8pm. Staring at Abercromby Square, it will travel down Oxford Street and follow to Hope street. It will be going down Bold Street, Duke Street, and ending in Great George Square. There are two after parties, both in the Baltic Triangle. Constellations and District will be hosting the official after parties where you can practice your Samba and enjoy the Brazilica bands. You can buy a £5 wrist band which allows entry for both venues.
There are also Brazilica daytime events starting at 1pm in Clayton Square on Saturday.
Hot Plate is hosting a Carnival event at 24 Kitchen Street. With Afrobeats, Soca, Dancehall, and much more you could be dancing all night. Keeping with the spirit of the day, it will have a tropical vibe. Entry is free and Kitchen Street is only a hop away from where the parade finishes.
Kazimier Gardens will be hosting an Absinthe tasting from 2pm. Tickets are £10 on the door.
Brazilica continues on Sunday. You can enjoy street performances throughout the city. There will bands and artist on Church Street. The Kazimier Gardens will have a live band and they also have an amazing slushies to accompany the sun.
It is the third week of the The Sessions Faction Sunday Social at Constellations. If in between Brazilica performances this would be a great place to chill out and have a tasty beer. It all starts at 2pm.
