On Saturday, we attended the Hip Hop Wine Shop at Camp and Furnace. We would consider ourself a wine novice but figured if we try as many wines as we could we could only expand our knowledge! With hundreds of wines to taste, we started on an Austrian white wine from Vinea which coincidentally was our favorite wine of the day. Vinea is a wine bar on Albert Dock which puts on all sorts of tasting events, from wine to gin. We are going to keep eye out on these and hopefully go to a tasting event next month! We could help but love the labeling and names of the wines from Aussie Rules and were even more delighted when the wine was lovely too! Their Divine Light Sauvignon Blanc and Snake Charmer Shiraz were highlights of the Vinaceous wine line. We love the idea behind Vinaceous brand, they’ve create a range of wines based on creatures of Greek mythology.
After trying all of the wine, we were seriously hungry so were tempted by Patchwork Pate . We tried and loved the smokey mushroom marmalade, apple and walnut chicken liver pate with seaweed crackers. It was an excellent accompany to all the wine.
We also couldn’t help ourselves to a few glasses of prosecco at the Vin Van Voom van, where we tried Briottet Liquers added to our glasses. We liked both the rhubarb and the blackcurrant flavours. By the end of the Hip Hop Wine Shop we had learnt, drank, and ate a lot.
